Frequently Asked Questions
- Where will l get medicines prescribed for me at the Health Center?
- Several local pharmacies have agreed to supply patients of Ashland Christian Health Center with prescribed medicines at a reduced price. We will try to use the lowest priced medicine that will be appropriate for your condition. You will be responsible to pay for the medication. For long-term medicines that are more expensive, you will be directed to the Patient Medication Assistance Program. You will be responsible to pay for the administration fee associated with this program. We will also give medications from our inhouse pharmacy when available.
- What if I cannot afford to pay for medicines?
- We may give you samples if available, or you may be directed to a community organization for funds for a small prescription of your needed medication.
- Where will I get lab tests and X-Rays done?
- At Samaritan Hospital. If you meet specific income requirements, the portion of the bill charged by Samaritan Hospital will be written off or reduced. Be sure to ask about this program when you go to the hospital for any reason. Physician fees, such as those charged for reading an X-Ray, are not automatically reduced. You will be responsible for these fees.
- What do I do if I have medical questions when the Health Center is not open?
- If you have an emergency, you will need to go to the Samaritan Hospital emergency room. If you need to be admitted to the hospital, a hospitalist will care for you. You will be billed and are responsible to pay for this service.
- If your question can wait, you can either call the Health Center at 419-903-0475 or leave a detailed message, which will be answered at the time of the next clinic, or you can just go to the next clinic.
- How will I find out about my test results?
- Your results will be sent to the Health Center and to the doctor who ordered the test. If there are significant abnormalities, you will be notified by the doctor by phone or in writing. Otherwise you can pick up the results at the clinic the week after your tests are done.
